The evening began with the Glynn Crooks special, a memorial men’s traditional non-bustle northern style dance. Glynn A. Crooks, age 67 was a Member of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community who journeyed to the Spirit World in 2018. He spent many years serving on the SMSC Business Council, proudly representing the tribe and its culture, history, and interests on both a local and a national level. He served as chairman of the SMSC Wacipi Committee for more than 25 years. Saturday’s second Grand Entry followed the Glynn Crooks Special. The evening concluded with the hand drum contest finals and fireworks that lit the sky.
